  12.              Welcome to SPELLB Version 1.2. This program will help
  13.              you to learn to spell some words.
  14.  
  15.              HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS:
  16.  
  17.              There are no unusual requirements for anything over 256K
  18.              RAM, and a color monitor. The program should run fine from
  19.              a floppy.
  20.  
  21.              DESCRIPTION/DIRECTIONS:
  22.  
  23.              SPELLB is a spelling tutor in game form which flashes
  24.              random words on-screen for a moment, then when they
  25.              disappear, you try to spell them. It then tracks your
  26.              score, lets you know correct spelling if you misspell
  27.              a word, and offers a misspelled word list after you are
  28.              done either on your monitor OR printed to paper.

  32.              Type SPELLB at the DOS prompt to start the program.
  33.              The program starts at the Intro screen, then the main menu
  34.              will be displayed. The menus throughout the program may
  35.              be negotiated using the arrow keys, or by pressing the
  36.              number next to your selection, then pressing [ENTER].
  37.              
  38.              You may choose to vary the speed at which the words are
  39.              dislayed by selecting the Speed option (because of the
  40.              variety of computer speeds, this may be necessary), and
  41.              you may disable the sound effects by choosing that option.

  43.              Then when you select Begin, you will be prompted for
  44.              how many words you want to spell this session. You can enter
  45.              any number up to 100. (100 per session is the maximum.) 
  46.  
  47.              After you enter your number of words, there will be a brief
  48.              pause, and then a word will be flashed on the screen for
  49.              a brief moment, and then disappear. You will then be ready 
  50.              to enter the word yourself. If you enter it incorrectly, you
  51.              will be told you have misspelled it, and you will be given
  52.              the correct spelling. If you enter it correctly, you will be
  53.              told so, and in either case, your score will be recorded and
  54.              another word will be displayed until you reach the number of
  55.              words you picked. The words are shown at random from a list
  56.              of hundreds. A few easy, but many difficult words are included.

  58.              After you complete the words, you will be shown how many you
  59.              missed out of the number you picked, and given the option to
  60.              print the words missed, or leave the program. If you choose to
  61.              print the missed words, you will be prompted to ready your
  62.              printer, and then after they are printed you may either exit
  63.              the program, or restart. If you restart, all options will be
  64.              set back to 'default'(normal settings).
  65.              Or, with this version, you can also print them to the screen.

  108.              The FREE disk contains a newer, enhanced version of SPELLB
  109.              in which you can easily add your own word-files. You can
  110.              have as many files as fit on your disk, up to 100 words
  111.              each, so you could have one (or more) for each member of your 
  112.              family. The 'registered' version also allows you to see
  113.              the words randomly or sequentially, keeps track of elapsed
  114.              time, etc.

  117.              handling, and you will also be sent a list of other software
  118.              we have available.(US funds check or money order)
